Bringing Hope to Others
The Light of Healing Hope Foundation (LHHF) was a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization working to build a program of hope and healing through poetry and beautiful images wherever there is suffering. LHHF provided Healing Messages booklets for patients to write or draw their own thoughts to nurture the spiritual healing from within that is such a vital part of physical healing. Institutions such as Johns Hopkins, NIH, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and VITAS Hospice Innovative Care distributed LHHF’s words of love, hope, and courage to patients, their families, and caregivers.

Healing Through Writing
Decades of research prove the important connection between writing and healing. Studies by researchers such as James W. Pennebaker have shown that writing about difficult times not only improves mental health and facilitates emotional healing, but has tangible effects on physical health as well.

Healing Through Art
Recent experiences in hospitals have shown that looking at beautiful works of art or participating in art classes may also help bring comfort and calm to those who are suffering. The Light of Healing Hope Foundation’s books of hope are a combination of kind words and beautiful images that we find to have a beneficial effect on those in need of comfort.
